After a more than disappointing season during the 2019 campaign, Derek Mason and the Commodores look to rebound in 2020 with some big pieces to replace on the offensive side of the ball. NFL Draft Prospects Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Kalija Lipscomb, and Jared Pinkney, who hope to hear their name called in the draft later this month, leave Todd Fitch and the Vanderbilt offense with some big production to fulfill. Meanwhile on the other side of the ball, Ted Roof and the Vanderbilt defense return 11 of 12 starters in addition to highly talented transfers Malik Langham from Florida and Alex Williams from Ohio State to beef up the defensive line. The talent is coming soon to West End and I’m here to go into more depth specifically on the recruiting side of things.
Coach Mason’s 2020 Recruiting class ranks 14th in the SEC and 52nd in the Country. Overall, that’s actually a decent class after a horrific 3-9 season in all aspects. Coach Mason and the scout team have been on a heavy recruiting trail recently that includes a very talented and offensive heavy class with lots of promise and playmaking ability. I’m now going to take a deeper look into the 2021 prospects who could be playing football on West End for the coming years.

This 2021 recruiting class currently ranks 11th in the SEC and 53rd in the Country. This class has the potential to be a huge spark plug for Coach Mason and the Vanderbilt program considering already having three highly touted recruits. We will soon find out the decisions of these highly recruited players and determine the depth for the 2021 class. Commodore nation lets ride behind our recruiting staff and bring these talented players to West End!
