Vanderbilt football and men’s basketball will have a new radio home next season.
On Tuesday, the university announced a partnership with Cromwell Media to become their flagship radio station. Beginning next season, Vandy fans can listen to football and men’s basketball games on 93.3-FM and 830-AM (101.9-FM in Sumner and Robertson Counties). Previously, games aired on 98.3-FM and 1510-AM.
“This partnership has been several months in the making, and we’re very pleased to be making this transition to bring Vanderbilt Athletics to even more fans and followers in the Middle Tennessee area and beyond,” said Candice Lee, Vanderbilt’s vice chancellor for athletics and university affairs and athletic director, in the press release.
Cromwell Media’s lineup already includes 102.5-FM The Game, which is the flagship station of the Nashville Predators, as well as ESPN 94.9-FM, which is the flagship of Nashville SC. Now these two stations will have additional programming which will include daily Vanderbilt Athletics updates, weekly broadcasts with radio announcer Joe Fisher, and “This Week in Vanderbilt History” segments.
“We couldn’t be more excited about our new partnership with Vanderbilt,” Cromwell Media vice president and market manager Dennis Gwiazdon said. “Vanderbilt’s invaluable connection to our community lines up perfectly with how we want to represent local sports and the SEC in Nashville.”
Cromwell Group, Inc. operates a total of 31 radio stations. Five of these are in Nashville, eight in Kentucky, and 18 in Illinois. For Vandy fans out of the area, broadcasts can be heard nationwide on the iGoRadio app and online.
Said Bayard Walters, “As the local owner of Cromwell Media, I’m glad we can formally be the flagship for Vanderbilt football and basketball. We have always supported Vanderbilt students and sports. We want this association to be overall great for Nashville.”
Baseball and women’s basketball will remain on 95.9-FM and 560-AM.
