On Monday, Coach Mason and staff picked up a solid recruit up front to beef up a smaller Commodore offensive line.
Gage Pitchford announced Monday afternoon he would be committing to Vanderbilt via Twitter. This is a nice pickup for Vanderbilt offensive line coach Peter Rossomando.
Pitchford, a native of Sharpsburg, GA, attends East Coweta High School (GA). Gage already has a massive frame at 6’6 280 and will serve nicely at the offensive tackle position once he gets to West End. Pitchford is a 3-Star recruit and is not ranked on either 247 Sports or Rivals. The Georgia product committed to the Commodores over Mississippi State, Arizona State, Kansas, Appalachian State, Air Force and more.
Pritchford is now the second Offensive lineman to Commit to the Commodores in the 2021 class. This should be welcoming to Commodore fans as Coach Mason is working to find bodies to beef up the line and have a physical front on the offensive side of the ball, something Vanderbilt struggled with during the 2019 campaign. Commodore fans, don’t be shocked if Pitchford sees lots of action early in his time at Vanderbilt, since the Commodores do not have an obvious starter at any of the Offensive line positions. Vanderbilt fans, let’s now welcome one of our newest recruits to West End as Gage Pitchford will be wearing the black and gold!
