Vanderbilt’s top overall 2021 Recruit, WR Jack Bech, has announced he will de-commit and rethink his options earlier tonight via Twitter.
This is a huge blow for Vanderbilt’s 2021 recruiting class. The Louisiana product featured the only 4 Star recruit of the bunch.
Bech committed to the Commodores back in late March and Coach Mason and staff were unable to dissuade him from pursuing greener pastures. The 6’2 215 pound prospect was already having a fabulous Senior season at St. Thomas More High School, resulting in offers from LSU, Mississippi State, Texas, and TCU over the last 5 days. This surge of interest from blue blood programs was the deciding factor for Bech to de-commit from Vanderbilt as announced moments ago.
Here are some highlights from the former Commodore commit’s Junior season:
The Commodore’s 2021 class is now ranked 68th Nationally and 14th in the SEC with an Average Star rating of 0.8433 per 247Sports. This level of recruiting is just not going to get it done competing against the powerhouses of the SEC, and is not going to result in many victories for the boys in black and gold.
Otherwise, the Commodores still have some important recruiting battles to win for this 2021 class, and it will be interesting to see how these turn out during and after the 2020 campaign. Stay tuned, Commodore fans, as The Dore Report will keep you updated on these intriguing recruiting battles taking place over the next several months.
