Thursday morning brought the unveiling of gold jerseys for the 2020 Vanderbilt Commodore football team.
The light gold jerseys feature a Star-V emblem on the chest, with “Commodores” below it. Other details include the subtle anchors within the numbers, anchors on the shoulders, and the slogan “The Degree. The City. The SEC.” inscribed on the inner collar. Commodore fans should be thrilled, as vocal fans have been calling for a return to gold, rather than a focus on grey that’s been present in recent years. The jerseys will be accompanied by the black throwback “Vandy” script helmets accented with a modern Nashville skyline, as well as with black pants and gold-accented gloves.
Hopefully the team will play as well as they’ll look when the Commodores (0-3, [0-3 SEC]) take on the Ole Miss Rebels (1-4, [1-4 SEC]) on Saturday at 3 pm CT on the SEC Network.
