Vanderbilt inked four signees during the second National Signing Day on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021. The newest Commodores are Michael Mincey (ILB), Dylan Betts-Pauley (RB), CJ Taylor (DB), and Patrick Smith (RB). The class would finish 33rd (Rivals) and 49th (247Sports) overall, making the class a very successful one for Coach Lea and staff, which includes Coach Jovan Haye, Taylor Searels, and Barton Simmons, among others.
While Mincey, Betts-Pauley, and Taylor were all expected to sign, Smith officially announced his commitment and signature to the public today, despite previously signing under the radar.
This class fills a number of needs for a Commodore roster that struggled with depth in 2020. 23 commits with 2 transfers (Re’Mahn Davis and Junior Uzebu) will have the opportunity to change the culture around a resurgent program.
