Scholl’s 6-Pack: Hawaii

๐ŸบThe Wright Rhythm

I want to see real routes. Stop forcing back shoulder throws and jump balls every time. Get Mike Wright in rhythm early with basic timing throws.

The faster he feels comfortable, the more points we score.

๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ Coaching Improvements

Last year we saw a new coaching staff struggle to manage a game week 1. I expect them to actually use timeouts and use them strategically. Also IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS.

Even though the offensive line is said to be “young” we should see improvement. Each starter is 310+ and 6’4″ – 6’6″. I know we aren’t Georgia or Alabama, but that size against Hawaii should be more than serviceable

๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ Rock and Ray

This was supposed to be a play on words to mimic Rock and Roll. Maybe it’ll land, maybe not.

Regardless, we should see a heavy dose of Rocko Griffin and Ray Davis. I know, I know rocko is listed as number 3, but bt the end of the day, we are an SEC team and they are an MWC West team. No reason we shouldnt be more physical and brutalize them in the rushing attack.

๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ Speed Kills

Speed Speed Speed – Utilize it – aka the young buck Jayden Mcgowan.

I dont care how we get him the ball. Jet sweep, fine. Bubble Screens, Fine. Let McGowan be a mini Tyreek Hill and blow the top off the defense, fine. Just get the ball in his hands to some extent.

๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿบ Turnover battle

Win the turnover battle. I couldn’t help but to think of Kevin Byard’s ballhawk prowess when I saw Clark Lea and staff moved Jaylen Mahoney to safety. Let him play instinctively and more freely. The dude has a nose for the ball.

I was a little bummed to not see Taco Wright or Daniel Martin in the depth chart, but a Jaylen Mahoney and Anfernee Orji lead defense WILL create turnovers. But will they create more than the offense? Major key to watch
