It has been a turbulent offseason for the Vanderbilt basketball team, losing six players to the transfer portal (two to SEC schools). On Wednesday, the program finally received some good news from the portal landing a commitment from Lehigh graduate transfer Evan Taylor.
The 6-foot-6, 200 lb. Taylor is a two-time All-Patriot League performer earning Third Team honors as a junior and Second Team honors as a senior this past season. He should provide the lineup with some scoring punch, rebounding, and maybe most importantly three-point shooting as a prolific catch-and-shoot wing. Taylor averaged 14.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and shot a remarkable 43% from three his senior season.
This news comes after the Commodores received a commitment from Jason Rivera-Torres last Friday, a 6-foot-6 guard out of Richmond, VA. Another Vanderbilt recruiting target – 6-foot-6 wing Malik Presley from San Marcos, TX – is set to make his announcement this Friday. Stay tuned…
